Fatter By the Minute!

So I have been gaining weight like there is no tomorrow and haven't been able to figure out why...until now.  I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism.  Hypothyroidism, for those who aren't familiar with this, is the condition in which they thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone.


My symptoms were obviously weight gain and really the only other thing was extremely tired and poor memory.  


I had a hysterectomy at the age of 28 and as a result have had to take synthetic hormones so I didn't kill someone (I'm kind of serious).  Luckily, I found an amazing doctor in Provo who does bioidentical hormone replacement (which I love).  Anyway, he did a blood test (for my hormones) and discovered that my thyroid level was extremely low.  I decided that I would use my awesome essential oils to see if it would increase my levels....guess what?  It did!  After taking doTERRA Balance and Geranium my levels were back to normal in just 2 weeks!  AMAZING, I say yes.  I simply put the Balance and Geranium in a spritzer bottle and sprayed it directly to my thyroid 2x per day.  I'm still waiting for the weight loss ;)  Hopefully it happens, but if not, at least I know my levels are where they are supposed to be and without any icky medication.

Neuropathy & Essential Oils

I had the greatest experience today! I met a gentleman at an expo last weekend who suffers from neuropathy. What is Neuropathy you ask...diabetic neuropathy, a common complication of diabetes, is damage to the nerves that allow you to feel sensations such as pain. The areas of the body most commonly affected by diabetic peripheral neuropathy are the feet and legs. Nerve damage in the feet can result in a loss of foot sensation, increasing your risk of foot problems. Injuries and sores on the feet may go unrecognized due to lack of sensation. Not all neuropathy is related to diabetes...in fact, the gentleman I will tell you about does not suffer from diabetes. Needless to say, it is painful!

Now back to the good stuff....I took my friend/business partner with me to this gentleman's home. When he opened the door he could barely walk. His right foot was the worst and he could hardly put pressure on it. We whipped out our bag of oils and were armed and ready to go, however, we could not perform the "technique" that we had planned because it required putting pressure on the foot which he could not tolerate. Simply wiping the oils ever so softly over his foot made him jump in pain. So my friend did her best to massage the oils into his foot where he could stand it and wiping them over the part that was so tender. First she applied doTERRA's aromatouch oil, second was Frankincense (which normally isn't used). After applying the frankincense he stopped her. He said he could actually feel it absorbing into his foot (we later realized that what he was feeling was the circulation he hadn't had in years) and finished with peppermint oil. This took all of 10-15 minutes. When we were done, he started applying pressure to his foot with his hands, then he stood up and put all of his weight on his right foot! He had not been able to do that for 20 years! It was very emotional for all of us.
The power of these oils is amazing. If I didn't witness this with my own eyes I probably wouldn't have believed it.

All Natural Multiple Sclerosis Treatment

Multiple Sclerosis is a progressive, disabling disease of the nervous system (brain and spinal cord). MS is an autoimmune disease in which the body’s own immune system attacks the nerves. Sore Throat?

Last night I had the worst sore throat!  Normally I would have sucked on some sore throat lozenges and prayed that it would work and my sore throat would go away.  So what did I do??  


I grabbed a medicine cup (the one on top of a cold medicine bottle) and filled it with water and 3 drops of Lemon essential oil.  Then I put 2 drops of Melalueca and 2 drops of OnGuard essential oil on the outside of my throat....sore throat gone!
